Being a Yachty Gras Sponsor means so much!
Yachty Gras season starts with a Kickoff Party in 2 to 3 weeks prior to Mardi Gras. The Grand Night Boat Parade follows the first weekend of Mardi Gras, with a Skipper’s Meeting conducted by Law Enforcement and the Coast Guard. This is for boaters who will be in the parade.
All boats are decorated in different themes for Mardi Gras.
The V.I.P. Party is held for the judging of the decorated boats in the parade. All of the local Mayors, City Council, State and Federal Congressional people and sponsors are invited for judging of the boats. The following morning is an Awards Breakfast.
Over the next six months we do Chamber of Commerce events, boat shows, Rotary Club, and all invited events where we can promote the local cities and bring tourism.
These events conclude with Keels & Wheels which is a special car and boat show at Lakewood Yacht Club the first week of May.
Our summer is spent writing grants for the next year.
In the fall we will have a Save the Date Party to get excitement going to start the next years events.
